Sueh Li is a type designer, educator and artist from Malaysia who graduated from the Type and Media Master program at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. With an interest in searching for Malaysia's unique identity in type and typography, she founded huruf. She also runs hrftype — a multilingual type design studio that provides typographic solutions and consultation.

Hsin Yin Low is a multidisciplinary visual designer from Malaysia. As part of the Huruf collective, she assists in facilitating workshops and editing contents; also in hrf type, she collaborates on type design projects and provides typographic design solutions. In order to encourage lifelong learning, she teaches graphic design courses at local institutions.

Tan Zi Hao is an artist, writer, and researcher. His idea has taken shape across a diverse range of topics involving language politics, interpretive etymology, mythical chimeras, and natureculture assemblage. He holds a PhD in Southeast Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore and is currently a lecturer at Multimedia University.

Kai Fam is a graphic and type designer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. He holds a postgraduate certificate in Type Design from the Type@Cooper Condensed Program. Currently, his design practice surrounds finding the balance (and tension) in using type as a vessel for communication and for expression.

Huruf is a type collective that strives to encourage greater awareness of typography and type design in Malaysia. With an interest of searching typographic identity in Malaysia, they are keen in exploring topics such as multilingualism, vernacular type, local typographic culture, and more. As an educational platform, they conduct workshops, organize talks and events, to share knowledge and inspire interest among the type enthusiasts. Huruf was founded by Tan Sueh Li in 2017. Low Hsin Yin, Tan Zi Hao, David Ho Ming Aun and Fam Kai-Cong joined forces with Huruf later on.
